Mexico Trip

Mexico was amazing... the weather was perfect, the food was sensational, the people were incredible... all in all, I could not have asked for a more perfect trip. We ate and drank what we wanted, when we wanted. We watched our sweet son play in the pool, explore the beach, and entertain his family! Here are some pictures of our week:

Here is our birthday boy watching the airplanes and paitently waiting for ours to arrive!

The moment Lucas got into the pool he was in love...

He also loved the beach... just as much as his daddy.

Nonnie and Granddaddy took care of the Lukester when David, Leah, Erik and I took a trip into the city.
El Centro. We walked the city, drank the drinks, and went to a bull fight. After the fight, we met my parents and Lucas for dinner at the Marina. It was fantastic.

We also spend some time in the room reading books and playing with toys. That was fun.
See?

All seven of us had a professional photo session that Erik referred lovingly to as "Olan Mills on the Beach"... here are a few of those:

It was truly an amazing place. See?

Here's to hoping we go again REALLY soon!!

A Year Already?!

This time last year I was HUGE and getting ready for Katie and Dave's wedding that evening.... little did we know that our little Lucas would be joining us the very next day! I can not believe that was one year ago.. WOW! Time truly flies. Yesterday, we celebrated Lucas' 1st Birthday with Erik's family. It was a nice and small gathering, and his family was too generous with their gifts for Lucas. He received a sand and water table (YAY!), a car that he can "drive" while mommy and daddy push it, some pool toys, we crocs, a magnetic barn with animals for the fridge (it plays music!!), and an inflatable pool, pajamas, a tractor with removable farmer and cow, and we gave him a tent and a ton of balls to play with in it. What a haul! I can not wait until the weather stays warm so we can really use these awesome things! I feel so fortunate that Lucas is surrounded by such love. We had the most delicious cake EVER accompanied with ice cream. His cake was a jungle theme (it matched the napkin I sent her perfectly!) She also made Lucas a little lion smash cake.. he absolutely loved it.
We head to Mexico tomorrow, on Lucas' actual first birthday... I am so excited! There we will celebrate all over again with my family. I will post pics of Mexico (and the tan I have not had since 2008!) once we get back!
